The new album of the Sardinian experimental bluesman Luca Marcia, aka Malignis Cauponibus, is a walk along the path of indifference. A-pathos is a concept album where music, rumble, noise and theatre merge to tell a new tale. In the footsteps of Tom Waits and Howling Wolf, just like a Malignis Cauponibus, Latin for scamming bartender, this artist will lead you into his world and will use any unconventional method he finds on his way to create his performance. Along the path, you will find mental dryness, dreams that went up in smoke, a pyromaniac setting fire to a piece of land hoping it will grow again, the same land turned into a skinny beauty. But you will also find a man fighting apathy to have back his freedom. The last song is a tip: turn off your phone to safeguard your pride. Listen to A-pathos in one go, it’s food for thought.
